<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We are really proud of the work Jacob did with us in the last seven years. His standout contributions were in the area of sidewalk counseling; he did sidewalk counseling most Fridays, and he used each time as an opportunity not only to directly help families and save children but as research and development for what methods are most effective to turn people away from abortion facilities. Ultimately, his work in this area informed multiple blog articles on sidewalk counseling and much of </span><a href="https://equalrightsinstitute.teachable.com/p/sidewalk-counseling"><span style="font-weight: 400;">the </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Sidewalk Counseling Masterclass</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">, where he pulled the curtain back to explain his unique methods of connecting with men and women at abortion facilities to empower them to choose life for their children. Since we launched that course in 2019, 808 people have signed up and we’ve heard only wonderful things from them, including:</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I have been sidewalk counseling for at least five years and learned some techniques in this course that I would not have discovered on my own.</span></p></blockquote>
<p style="text-align: right;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">~ Paul</span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<blockquote>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Before watching the course, sidewalk counseling seemed like an intimidating thing that should be left to others more knowledgeable and gifted. After watching this course, I feel very confident that I could get out there and do it.</span></p>
</blockquote>
<p style="text-align: right;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">~ Jessica</span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<blockquote><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">This course is a treasure trove! I appreciated so much that they not only make suggestions of what to do but also shared their own mistakes and what they have learned. It’s incredibly practical. Seriously, this course was some of the best money I have ever spent!</span></p></blockquote>
<p style="text-align: right;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">~ Laura</span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<blockquote><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I learned so much more than I thought I was going to! This course is a great way to get your foot in the door or look for different methods if you have been counseling for a long time. </span></p></blockquote>
<p style="text-align: right;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">~ Jamie</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">You have inspired me to communicate better not only on the sidewalk but in every interaction.  Speaking truth in love is needed all the time so the more I do that in my everyday life the more authentic I will be on the sidewalk.</span></p></blockquote>
<p style="text-align: right;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">~ Geneva</span></p>
<blockquote><p><span style="font-weight: 400;">I </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">very</span></i><span style="font-weight: 400;"> much appreciated this course. I have a PRC patient advocacy background but not sidewalk counseling, and I wanted to see how sidewalk counselors serve patients in comparison to patient advocates. This is also useful to see how the two of us could work together.</span></p></blockquote>
<p style="text-align: right;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">~ Myriam</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">After publishing the course I tasked Jacob with offering one-on-one coaching to the people who purchased the course. In the last three years, Jacob tracked 122 hours of coaching with 27 sidewalk counselors. Jacob also functioned as our support raising coach for new staff members, and I sent multiple leaders of other pro-life groups to Jacob for some free fundraising advice. We’re all on the same team! </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Jacob’s legacy at ERI will live on through </span><a href="https://equalrightsinstitute.teachable.com/p/sidewalk-counseling"><span style="font-weight: 400;">the </span><i><span style="font-weight: 400;">Sidewalk Counseling Masterclass</span></i></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> and the </span><a href="https://blog.equalrightsinstitute.com/category/sidewalk-counseling/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">articles</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> and </span><a href="https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLsN8Ay8poS-KcZBtbYzaL3Ng9vUXf46_M"><span style="font-weight: 400;">podcasts</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> he was a part of. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Please join us in thanking Jacob for the great work he did at ERI these last seven years!</span></p>
